What will you do? 

A day in the life of a Supply Chain Analyst at Altra looks a little like this. 

You will help drive the inventory management process and manage day to day supply chain activities and reporting to enable sustainable, profitable growth for the brand. This Analyst will identify opportunities, implement process improvements, and make recommendations to help achieve sales targets and maximize inventory productivity. This Analyst will build operational reporting tools to promote inventory analytics and overall operational assessment.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more. 

  • Maintain and monitor monthly S&OP metrics and presentation; consolidate data and commentary from other departments, summarize and provide insight and clear direction into the activities that drive sound inventory management decisions.
  • Coordinate, schedule meetings, and drive monthly discussions around changes to sales and inventory forecast or variances to sales and inventory targets, ensure commentary is clear and concise, and distribute resulting meeting documents to management as appropriate.
  • Audit inventory movement and adjustments and review of full annual physical inventories
  • Create monthly reports and analysis to inform supply chain on key metrics and analysis associated with on hand inventory utilization, inventory composition, inventory days and inventory position.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, distribution, logistics and customer service on daily basis to ensure end to end supply chain execution and performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining system data integrity, contribute to seasonal classification changes (inventory), maintain lead time, and overall systematic execution.
  • Lead automation efforts to reduce manual creation/modification of reporting Responsible for reporting and forecasting of excess.
  • Support inventory budgeting process for excess, days, and dollars.
  • Support ad hoc project requests from both Operations and other partner departments requiring analytics surrounding inventory management. 
  • Support Outlets with backend data maintenance and inventory accuracy in systems; managing orders and shipments to the stores

What do you need to succeed? 

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, you are bringing 2+ years of work experience in an analytical setting, preferably Supply Chain, Finance, or Inventory Management along with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are: 

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand supply chain issues and drive solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both written & verbal), lead discussions and give presentations to large and small groups
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and complete projects under a deadline
  • Flexible and high attention to detail
  • Experience with reporting platforms, SAP, COGNOS a plus
  • Expertise in Excel and all Microsoft applications

Special Requirements: 

  • Travel estimated at 5% or less of the time

Hiring Range:

$56,347.83 USD - $70,434.78 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
