The Job

We are looking for an AI/ML Engineer to bridge the gap between our new data science team and IT operations, streamlining and scaling machine learning workflows and GenAI services in production environments. The role involves implementing CI/CD pipelines tailored to AI/ML workflows, managing cloud data and ML tools, and ensuring efficient, reliable, and scalable machine learning and GenAI deployments.

Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, validate, and maintain advanced modelling algorithms and pipelines using the latest AI/ML technologies.

• Implement and deploy ML models and GenAI services to improve business metrics.

• Embrace and innovate with new tools and methodologies to continuously monitor and optimize AI/ML models, striving for scalable, reliable, and well-maintained systems.

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines tailored for AI/ML workflows, ensuring automation and version control.

• Work with large datasets; extract and manipulate data using tools such as Spark SQL, command line, and scripting languages.

• Leverage cloud platforms for streamlined deployment.

• Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure the success and alignment of AI/ML solutions.

• Operate within an agile framework, working closely with cross-functional teams.

• Enhance internal AI/ML capabilities through comprehensive documentation of processes, models, key learnings, and contributions.

• Uphold ethical standards, adhere to privacy regulations, ensure fairness in AI models, and maintain compliance with data governance and security standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Certifications in relevant AI/ML tools and cloud platforms like Azure are highly desirable and will be beneficial for continuous professional development.

• Demonstrable experience in designing, developing, and implementing AI/ML models.

• Proven track record in building and maintaining data pipelines, data wrangling, and model training/inference processes in cloud environments, mainly Microsoft Azure.

• Extensive experience in Azure Databricks, along with proficiency in server-less computing, containerization, and essential tools like Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, MLflow, and Docker

• Experience in working within cross-functional teams in an Agile framework.

• Strong foundation in DevOps principles, including experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and version control.

• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, their assumptions, and the process of fine-tuning parameters.

• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and SQL, with knowledge of other languages as added advantages.

• Familiarity with ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, as well as big data processing frameworks like Hadoop and Spark.

• Experience in ensuring adherence to data governance, ethical standards, privacy regulations, and compliance guidelines in AI.

• Proven skills in improving ML pipeline efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.

• Excellent collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a knack for diagnosing issues in ML models in production.

• Ability to effectively document complex processes, models, and key learnings.

• A strong mindset for continuous improvement and innovation, essential for reaching new heights in a nascent Databricks practice.
