The University of Southern California’s Iovine and Young Academy (IYA) is seeking an Admission and Student Services Coordinator to join its Academic Affairs team. This position will assist in the planning and execution of IYA program recruitment strategies and will advise prospective students on admission and academic requirements but will also function as a member of and contributor to the team that administers the Academy’s undergraduate and graduate academic programs and provides services to our students.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in higher education admission, student services, or program administration. Excellent communication skills are required. Candidates must have the ability to work successfully within a team of staff and faculty members. Occasional evening and weekend work as well as travel are required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
● Support in the planning and execution of recruitment strategies and programs for Iovine and Young Academy programs.
● Advises prospective applicants and applicants on the admission process, academic program requirements, financial aid options, and sample career outcomes of IYA alumni.
● Provides support to the undergraduate and graduate academic program management staff and to the academic advisors.
● Provides academic counseling for undergraduate and/or graduate students. Advises on matters of curriculum, course and degree requirements, transfer credit evaluation, and graduation counseling and clearance. Monitors student progress in honors and probation programs.
● Carefully maintains applicant and student records and regularly compiles statistical data for the strategic and informational needs of the Academy and the University. Prepares reports for internal and external use.
● Maintains currency on policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to admission, financial aid, registration, transfer credit evaluation, and course and degree requirements.
● Provide support in the planning and coordination of student events and programming, including recruitment, registration, new student orientation, commencement, and residential programs.
● Provide support for undergraduate recruitment and admission efforts led by the Academy’s Associate Director of Admission.
● Provide support in the process of budgeting and processing scholarship awards, in gathering financial expenditure data, and in development of scholarship and recruitment budgets.
● Participates in committees at the team, school, or university level as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Planning or the Dean.
● Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Knowledge of USC’s Student Information System (SIS) and WebAdMIT (graduate admission) system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree and two years of related experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is $28.43 - $30.76.
