Brooks is looking for an Accounting Manager as we accelerate our growth journey. This position will be based in Steißlingen.
Your Responsibilities.
- Responsible for general ledgers, including preparing annual financial statements in accordance with HGB.
- Perform monthly closings in compliance with US GAAP, including intercompany and account reconciliations.
- Act as the point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and internal audit teams.
- Conduct and continuously improve SOX controls to ensure compliance requirements are met.
- Oversee general ledger, payroll, banking, and tax functions (including VAT).
- Review material revenue transactions to ensure it meets revenue recognition criteria and identify exceptions to resolve with the US team
- Prepare or review revenue related reconciliations
- Provide oversight to ensure all statutory and regulatory filings are performed accurately and on a timely basis in EMEA
- Collaborate with the Shared Service AP Team, the accounting team in Switzerland, and the parent company in the USA.
- Provide coverage for the European Controller for managing accounting operations across European entities (France, Italy, UK) and Israel.
- Participate in global projects such as ERP software migrations and implementations.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes.
Your Qualifications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
- Several years of experience in a leading audit firm or comparable experience in an international environment preferred.
- Strong expertise in HGB and US GAAP accounting standards.
- Ideally, knowledge of SOX controls and internal audits.
- Proactive, flexible, and well-organized personality with problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office/Excel and experience with ERP programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.
Additional Desired Skills.
- US GAAP Revenue Recognition: In-depth understanding of ASC 606 principles.
- Leasing Accounting: Experience with ASC 842 for lease arrangements and compliance.
- Familiarity with IFRS standards would be a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams or projects.
- Knowledge of process automation and experience with ERP system optimization (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
