Prologis is looking to recruit an Accountant with strong accounting knowledge and process improvement skills to join the G&A Accounting team in Amsterdam, Netherlands, for a 12-month maternity cover.

You are a motivated team player, who understands the complexity of a multinational company and enjoys an ever-dynamic environment. You will have ownership over a number of operational entities and will be responsible for obtaining a clear understanding of respective company activities and ledgers. In this broad and demanding role, you will support our accounting activities and work on a regular basis with different finance teams like Compliance, Corporate Accounting, Intercompany, AP/AR, FP&A and Global accounting operations teams. You will have to prioritize your own workload and work with the team in order to deliver against ambitious deadlines.

What’s needed in order to do that.

• Ensure correctness, timeliness and completeness of the P&L accounts assigned to you
• Record and reconcile payroll related transactions for entities assigned to you
• Review G&A and Non-Operating expenses, define and book related accruals and prepaids
• Record and reconcile payroll related transactions
• Understand and reconcile the general ledger accounts related to above mentioned topics
• Provide variances between actuals and forecast for FP&A and Corporate Finance
• Process and align intercompany relations
• Assist with internal reporting for presentation to relevant internal and external stakeholders
• Provide information on accounting treatment (US GAAP and Local GAAP) and insight into the variances between actuals and forecast
• Promote collaborative team atmosphere and positive work environment
• Contribute continuous improvements through process documentation and other efficiency gains
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

• BSc or MSc degree in Accounting or Business
• 3+ years relevant accounting experience required
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience with a global, multi-entity, public organization and/or public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Solid accounting knowledge and proven record of driving process improvements
• Have a pro-active, getting it done mentality with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast moving, and demanding environment
• Execute responsibilities with a sense of urgency and follow-through
• Customer service focus and a team player mentality
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate issues and suggested resolutions clearly and concisely with management
• Demonstrated abilities to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
• Strong aptitude for learning and using various accounting and general ledger systems, PeopleSoft is preferred
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
