We are seeking an exceptionally talented individual to join our team as a Human Capital Management/Human Resources Summer Intern. A successful candidate will be a driven, self-starter who is passionate about working with people. As well as taking pride in the delivery of your work, you will able to demonstrate close attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. You will create strong relationships, be able to communicate effectively, and work well with others.

As a Summer Intern, you will be exposed to various aspects of Human Capital Management, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of Human Capital Management operations within Learning and Development, Benefits, Compensation, and Talent Management in a corporate setting. This role is ideal for a college student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, looking to gain practical experience.

What you’ll do

  • Support onboarding processes for new hires, including preparing welcome packages and coordinating orientation sessions.
  • Help in organizing and implementing employee engagement activities and event
  • Aid in the administration of Human Capital Management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in Human Capital Management projects, such as employee surveys, performance management processes, and training initiatives.
  • Support the Human Capital Management team in conducting compensation analysis.
  • Help in communicating benefits information to employees. This could involve preparing benefits materials, assisting in benefits orientation sessions, and updating benefits information on the company's internal portal.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as data entry, filing, and report generation.
  • Assist in maintaining employee records accurately and confidentially.

What you’ll need

  • Interest in learning about HR practices and principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and be an excellent team player; to put the success of the team above their own
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture.

Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience.  We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.

The annual base pay for this role is expected to be between $45,000 and $52,000 which will be prorated based on internship start and end date. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications and experience and level of education.
